The 2019 hit movie The Lion King now has a prequel called Mufasa: The Lion King, which will soon be available on OTT platforms.

Directed by Barry Jenkins and produced by Adele Roman Ski and Mark Seriak under Walt Disney Pictures, the film was released on December 20 last year. It was very popular in India, with a production cost of ₹1,260 crores and earnings of ₹3,200 crores worldwide.

The movie will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on February 18. At first, viewers will have to pay extra to watch it as a rental. After that, it will be available on other platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango for a Video-On-Demand (VOD) fee. It will be free to watch starting April 1.

The movie was released in four languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. It got special attention in Telugu, where the famous actor Mahesh Babu voiced Mufasa.

In the Hindi version, Shah Rukh Khan voiced Mufasa, and his son AbRam voiced the younger Mufasa. Shah Rukh Khan’s older son Aryan Khan voiced Simba in the film.
